The Urine Microscopy, Culture, Identification & Sensitivity (MC&S) test at Pamel Laboratories is a detailed diagnostic procedure used to detect and identify urinary tract infections (UTIs) and determine the most effective antibiotics for treatment. This test provides comprehensive insight into the presence of bacteria, yeast, or other pathogens in the urine and helps guide accurate, targeted therapy.

It is especially important for patients with recurrent UTIs, unexplained urinary symptoms, or complicated infections.

What the Test Includes:

1. Microscopy – Examines urine under a microscope for white blood cells, red blood cells, epithelial cells, and casts

2. Culture – Grows and isolates any bacteria or organisms present

3. Identification – Pinpoints the exact microorganism causing the infection

4. Sensitivity (Antibiogram) – Tests the organism against various antibiotics to determine the most effective treatment
