Anti-Streptolysin O (ASO) Titre – Strip Method (Rapid Test)

The ASO Titre – Strip Method at Pamel Laboratories is a rapid screening test used to detect the presence of Anti-Streptolysin O (ASO) antibodies in the blood. These antibodies are produced in response to a group A Streptococcal infection, such as strep throat or skin infections. The strip method offers a quick qualitative result (Positive/Negative) and is ideal for initial screening in cases where streptococcal infection or its complications are suspected.

This test is often requested in the evaluation of conditions like rheumatic fever, post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis, or unexplained joint pain or fever.

What the Test Detects:

• Presence of ASO antibodies in the blood

• Results are reported as Positive (ASO detected) or Negative (ASO not detected)

• Suggests a recent or past infection with Streptococcus pyogenes
