Original price was: ₦22,000.00.Current price is: ₦20,000.00.

The Quantitative PSA Test at Pamel Laboratories measures the exact level of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) in the blood. PSA is a protein produced by both normal and abnormal cells in the prostate gland. Elevated PSA levels may indicate prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate).

This test is highly valuable for early detection, risk assessment, and monitoring treatment response in men with prostate conditions.

What the Test Measures:

  • The precise concentration of PSA in the blood (reported in ng/mL)

  • Helps detect abnormalities in the prostate gland

Purpose of the Test:

  • Screen for prostate cancer

  • Monitor men with enlarged prostate (BPH) or chronic prostatitis

  • Track prostate cancer treatment outcomes or recurrence

  • Evaluate symptoms such as:

    • Frequent urination

    • Difficulty starting or stopping urine flow

    • Painful urination or ejaculation

    • Pelvic or lower back discomfort

Sample Type: Blood sample (serum)
Fasting Required: No
Turnaround Time: Same day or next day

Interpretation Guide:

  • Normal PSA: Generally <4.0 ng/mL (age-dependent ranges may apply)

  • Borderline/Intermediate: 4.0–10.0 ng/mL (requires clinical correlation)

  • High PSA: >10.0 ng/mL (may suggest significant prostate abnormality, including cancer)

Note: PSA levels can also rise due to recent ejaculation, prostate manipulation, or urinary infections.
