SGOT Test (Serum Glutamic-Oxaloacetic Transaminase) / AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase)

The SGOT Test, also known as AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase), at Pamel Laboratories is a blood test that measures the level of SGOT enzyme in your blood. SGOT is an enzyme found in the liver, heart, muscles, and other organs. Elevated levels can indicate liver damage, heart problems, or muscle injury.

This test is commonly included in Liver Function Tests (LFTs) and helps detect hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, alcoholic liver disease, or myocardial infarction (heart attack).
